Is my username and password encrypted?
Yes. Webmail++ uses AES 256-bit encryption when it is stored on your device.
The + menu button is in the way of a button on my webmail site, is there a way to move it?
Absolutely! Just drag the button anywhere you want along the bottom of the screen. You can even flick it from side to side.
Does Webmail++ use Push Notifications?
Push notification integration is an advanced capability new to Webmail++ v2.2. Webmail++ does not actually send or recieve push notifications, but rather can be launched from other apps specifically designed for receiving notifications.
In order for push notifications to work with Webmail++, you will need the following:
- Have a push notification app on your device, such as Pushmail or Boxcar. These applications can be obtained from the App Store.
- Be able to configure your webmail or desktop mail client to automatically forward messages.
First, you must obtain a Push Notification application. There are a number of applications that are available. For example:
PushMail
Pushmail is an application designed for recieving forwarded mails and sending your device a push notification. Setting up PushMail can be found on the PushMail site here.
Boxcar
Boxcar is a free application for receiving push notifications. Setup instructions for Boxcar can be found here.
Webmail++ does not provide technical support for any of these applications, but we have found them to useful.
When these apps ask for a URL for a push notification action, you can obtain a URL for each of your Webmail++ accounts by going to the account settings for the given account and pressing the 'Push Notification' button:

This will take you to a new screen. By pressing the 'Copy URL' button, it will copy to your clipboard a URL that will launch Webmail++ from these push notification applications. This URL can be then pasted into the action field of these apps.

Your app is rated for those 17+, what adult content do you have in there of which I should be aware?
The standard norm for App Store apps is that if your app includes a browser that can navigate anywhere on the web, it should be rated 17+ for those devices that have content restrictions placed upon them. It's childish, I know, but I think it's important to respect parents that want to make sure they know what content is appearing on their child's device. Webmail++ does not (in and of itself) contain any 17+ content, but could be used to view such content through the in-app browser.
Does Webmail++ keep my username and password stored on Webmail++ servers?
No. Your username and password are only stored on your own device and only shared with the sites that you choose.
I forgot my PIN! Is there a backdoor I can use to get into my app?!
Sorry, no. PIN access is meant to maintain the integrity of your accounts and there is no way around it. If you have truly forgotten your PIN, just remove the account and add it again. It's inconvenient, for sure, but we take the security of your username/password seriously.
Why does my webmail reload sometimes after visiting an external link?
This only occurs (sometimes) when you visit resource intensive web pages. Sites with a lot of images, videos, etc. can cause this. Because there is a finite amount of memory that Webmail++ can use, the app has to free some of those resources in order to display the web page you are curently viewing.
Does Webmail++ track usage data?
No. How you use Webmail++ is your own business and no tracking mechanisms have been added by the developer. The developer values his privacy and thinks you do, too.
